Biography

W. Duncan Patterson Jr. began his career in the real estate industry in 1973 and is the co-founder and President of Patterson Woods & Associates, LLC (which does business as Patterson-Woods Commercial Properties). He is also President of Patterson-Price & Associates, LLC, which specializes in the sale of investment and development properties in the Mid-Atlantic region. In addition he is Vice-President of Delaware Appraisal Group, a full-service Real Estate Appraisal company. His broad range of Real Estate experience includes; Residential Sales; Commercial Sales; Syndication; Residential Development; Commercial Development; and Real Estate Brokerage Management. He attained his GRI (Graduate Realtors Institute) in 1978 and CCIM designation (Certified Commercial Investment Member) in 1981.

Mr. Patterson’s passion for the real estate industry is reflected in his various leadership roles. He is Past President of the Pennsylvania-Delaware-New Jersey CCIM Chapter, Past Regional Vice-President and Past-President of the Commercial Investment Real Estate Council. Additionally, Mr. Patterson served on the Editorial Review Board of the Commercial Investment Real Estate Journal, a national magazine published by the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute to which, among other nationally recognized industry publications, he remains a frequent contributor.

Mr. Patterson has conducted several seminars, programs, lectures and training sessions on real estate investment for the Delaware Association of Realtors, the Georgia Association of Realtors, the New Castle County Board of Realtors, the Sussex County Board of Realtors, the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, and the University of Delaware. He has taught courses around the country on behalf of the CCIM Education Foundation and teaches continuing education and GRI courses on behalf of the Frederick Academy of Real Estate.

An active member of his community, Mr. Patterson is a past member of The Delaware Trust Company Bank Board, the Governing Board of Winterthur Business Associates, Board of Trustees of Tower Hill School and past Chairman of the Jefferson Scholarship of the University of Virginia, Delaware Region. He also served on the executive board of the America Diabetes Association Delmarva Region and is currently Chairman of the Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission.

Greg has been involved in various forms of real estate – commercial, corporate, and residential – for twenty-two years. He has represented both local and national clients by selling, leasing, and finding properties that fit their needs.

Greg joined Patterson-Woods Commercial Properties in May 2005, specializing in corporate property and investment sales and Tenant Representation for office, industrial, and retail leasing. Since joining Patterson-Woods, Greg has successfully negotiated and closed sales and leases involving office buildings, warehouses, shopping centers and hotels. He was promoted to Sales Manager at Patterson-Woods in January 2012, overseeing the company’s agents and transactions.

In 2010, Greg became a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). This designation is earned after successfully completing a designation process that ensures CCIMs are proficient not only in theory, but also in practice. Being a CCIM, Greg is part of a global commercial real estate network with contacts across North America and more than 30 countries.

In addition to commercial brokerage for Patterson-Woods, Greg is a Principal of Rockford Capital Partners, a private real estate firm specializing in the acquisition, repositioning, and management of commercial real estate assets in the MidAtlantic US.

Prior to joining Patterson-Woods, Greg worked for 10 years for MBNA America Bank, N.A. For five of those years, he managed their Corporate Real Estate Department where he was responsible for all property acquisition, leasing, and disposition throughout the United States. In addition to negotiating purchase and lease agreements, he managed the due diligence process including zoning, use, and environmental investigations.

Greg graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Duke University and pursued graduate studies in real estate at John Hopkins University.

Greg is and has been active in several real estate and economic development organizations in Delaware. He is currently on the board and the Chair of the Legislative Committee of the Commercial-Industrial Real Estate Council (CIRC) of New Castle, Delaware, and is the First Vice President of The Committee of 100. He previously served as President of CIRC and the TriState REALTORS ® Commercial Alliance. He is a member of Delawareans for Environmental and Economic Development (D.E.E.D.).

Greg feels strongly about giving back to the community and is the immediate Past-President of the Delaware Zoological Society. He was also part of the Real Estate Advisory Council at the Delaware Center for Horticulture.

Rich is a Principal with Patterson-Woods Commercial Properties providing brokerage and real estate consulting services to a wide variety of clients. Rich began his entrepreneurial career by launching a tanning salon business while in college. After selling the business in 2004, he transitioned into commercial real estate where he has earned a reputation for his ability to develop creative, value-added real estate solutions for his clients as well as mentoring new brokers at the firm.

Rich built his practice by working with established local companies in New Castle, Kent and Sussex Counties in Delaware; Chester County in Pennsylvania and Cecil County in Maryland. As the youngest partner at the firm he works to keep the name intact as one of the leading local brokers in the area. He consistently ranks among the company’s top performing professionals in the local market. He enjoys advising owner operators and first time buyers of commercial properties. He navigates them through the pitfalls and makes sure they have the right team in place to get a commercial real estate transaction across the finish line.

Rich earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Delaware in 2003 and is a native of Hockessin, Delaware. He is a member of the Caesar Rodney Rotary Club and enjoys traveling.

He is a trusted member of Patterson-Woods’ team and assists owners and occupants of warehouse facilities, retail and restaurant clients as well as commercial investors with their real estate needs. Tom provides brokerage services in New Castle and Kent Counties in Delaware as well as Cecil County in Maryland and Chester County in Pennsylvania.

With his background in business operations, Tom has developed a unique transaction management process for industrial and business sales and lease assignments throughout the region.

As a top industrial broker for Patterson-Woods, Tom’s role requires constant contact not only with his clients, but also with brokers and owners in the market. His focus on relationships and transactional details has enabled him to attract and retain clients throughout the Tri-State area.

After attending the University of Delaware, Tom owned and operated several retail and restaurant businesses, selling his last company in 2003. He resides in Newark with his wife and daughter.

Will Minster is the fourth generation of his family’s 122-year-old-jewelry business, Minster’s Jewelers. He owned and operated the Wilmington location for 25 years until he decided to devote his time to community revitalization. As president of the Downtown Business Association and board member of Wilmington Renaissance Corporation and Downtown Visions, Will was a founding member of Main Street Wilmington in 2007.

From 2011 to August 2017 Will held dual roles at Wilmington’s Downtown Business Improvement District, also known as Downtown Visions, as Director of Business Development and Program Manager for Main Street Wilmington. He brought the retail and small business background that was needed in the revitalization leadership of Downtown Wilmington. Since 2011, Main Street Wilmington has restored 50 building facades and awarded 60 grants to small businesses in Downtown Wilmington.

Will joined Patterson Woods Commercial Properties in January of 2017 and decided to work full time assisting businesses on site location, lease negotiations, property sales and leasing, accessing grants, government regulations and permitting, marketing and much more.

Kyle McLaughlin’s background comes with more than ten years of management, hospitality, and entrepreneurial experience. He started his career in construction and engineering for both large and small firms around the country. At the age of 25, he started his own bar/restaurant in Rehoboth Beach, DE by taking over an existing space and rejuvenating an existing brand. Kyle was drawn to the revitalization in downtown Wilmington, DE, where he helped to develop a new brewery from its inception. Stitch House Brewery was part of a larger push for economic change in the state’s biggest city.

He most recently started a firm, Refresh Ventures, where he practices consulting in areas of business development, marketing, and research. A passion project Kyle is involved in is a health-focused beverage company called The Wedge Beverage Company. Kyle is also currently an adjunct professor at the University of Delaware where he teaches entrepreneurship.

Kyle holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware and a Masters of Business Administration from Providence College. An avid reader and listener of “all things business”, he enjoys brainstorming new ideas and business initiatives. In his spare time, Kyle can be found experiencing new restaurants or getting outdoors to be active with his dog Jackson.
